Revolution Prep has embraced the use of online resources to personalize learning, and our instructors are trained to infuse energy into every class, keeping students focused and engaged. At Revolution, we are passionate about what we do and you will see this passion in everything we do."
Free Events: In most areas, Revolution Prep hosts a variety of free events including free practice tests, score back nights (getting practice test results back), wring workshops, and SAT vs. ACT seminars. If you visit the Revolution Prep website and enter your local zip code, you can see the different events in your area!
Back

Back
Online Supplementary Service:
- Booster Classes: With any Revolution Prep class, you also receive two free six hour online classes taught by an expert instructor. You can choose from classes covering "multiple subjects, incuding AP Exams, SAT Subject Tests, SAT and ACT add-ons ... and more." With each class, you receive a "practice test [...] graded online and assigned homework." The online classes use "audio, video, chat, and message boards" for teaching. The booster classes are live, so there are specific meeting times. The booster classes never expire, which means you can sign up for them years after your Revolution class.
- Online Study Sessions: With the course, an instructor can schedule online study sessions, during which students go over further practice problems or discuss strategies.
Back
More Expensive Class Option - Hybrid Class: If you enroll in a hybrid class, you attend lectures and tests together with regular students. However, in addition to those lectures and tests, you receive four hours of in person tutoring for the extra $300 you pay. This rate of $75/hour is relatively cheap by SAT in person tutoring standards.
Back
Online Class Additional Services: For $299, Revolution Prep gives you access to all the materials you need for a self study style course. With this class, you also get
- Review after Practice Tests: After each test, the students can see the problems they missed. Moreover, they will get help figuring out what they missed and advice on how to improve in the future. This service is not life.
- The Revolution Prep textbook and Workbook
Back
Financial Aid: Revolution Prep prides itself on never turning away a student becasue of financial need, and it offers need based scholarships. Ivy Bound prides itself on providing a maximum of flexibility. They will do whatever it takes to fit your needs and your schedule: organize a class in your area, find a small group tutoring option, or get private tutoring. To accomodate busy schedules, most Ivy Bound classes meet on weekends.
Ivy Bound allows you to choose between four types of classes and four classes of instructors! This makes picking an Ivy Bound class a little bit more complicated, but these classes are also more customized.
Ivy Bound does their best to adjust their offerings for you! This means that the information in the chart is the general case - there may be exceptions! Please contact Ivy Bound directly if you find the information here lacking, as the answers will depend largely on your particular needs. They are a small company, and the founder is still the head instructor!
Free Event:
- In person seminars: Ivy Bound offers free hour long seminars at YOUR location, if you can find 20 or more interested families. It also consistently offers seminars at many schools. To sign up for either seminar, please e-mail

. For the telephone seminar, include your name, location, child's graduation year, and your desired time to participate in the conference call in the e-mail.
Back
Improvement Guarantee: 100 point improvement or half your money back for diligent students! To qualify for this guarantee, a student must attend 90% of the classes, do 90% of the homework, and complete at least three practice tests.
Back
Cost: The cost of an Ivy Bound class is never set in stone and depends on a large set of criteria, including (but perhaps not limited to) the number of students in the class, the type of instructor (see below), the type of class, and the number of practice tests. A very cheap version of the class would cost $292/student for an 18 hour course, and the most expensive possibibility would cost $6,640/student for an 41 hour class with ten practice tests. To see how much the class you are interested in creating would cost, please see the Ivy Bound price calculator.
Back
Free supplements:

Back
Main Class Comments - How to choose between cheaper and more expensive classes: If you are considering a course with Princeton Review, they offer some very salient advice on how to choose between their basic Classroom Course (in the chart) and ultimate classes. Princeton Review recommends that you NOT take the basic course if "you're chasing 2100+ or need to substantially boost your score." The basic course focuses more on test taking strategy than on content and also requires the student to be comfortable working independently. The SAT Ultimate course, described next, provides more intensity and will likely lead to a larger score improvement!
Back
More Expensive Course: The Princeton SAT Ultimate course provides 12 more hours of instruction than the basic course and several useful extra features:
- 150 point money back guarantee: If you take the official SAT test after your Ultimate SAT class, and your score does not rise by 150 points - you can take a LiveOnline Refresher Course. If after taking this refresher and then taking the official SAT again, your score still does not improve 150 points - you will receive a full refund for your SAT Ultimate class.
- Access to video lessons on every topic covered in class!
- More online practice tools! Students get additional drills and lessons to help them all the way till their actual SAT as well as access to old princeton SAT practice tests.
Back
Tutoring Instructors: The price of the princeton tutoring package varies by the how good the instructor is! The qualification and cost of the tutor varies by how much tutoring they have done.
- Private Tutors: fewer than 500 hours of tutoring. To become a Princeton Review Private Tutor, a teacher must first have been an excellent classroom instructor, positively reviewed by students and staff.
- Master Tutors: between 500 and 1,000 hours of tutoring. They receive the promotion for "remarkable score improvements, impressive communication skills, dedication, adaptability, and efficiency." They are great at working with students with different learning needs and academic goals.
- Premier Tutors: over 1,000 hours of tutoring. These are the best! They "consistently achieve phenomenal results for their students." Often, these are the instructors who write the Princeton Review books and train other teachers.
Excel (Bay Area only)
